Trinity Presbyterian Church Edenvale is involved in their community in a very practical way, reaching out to the less fortunate, lonely and needy, whether financial, physical or Spiritual.

SENIOR CITIZENS GET TOGETHER – Every 2nd Thursday of the month, the seniors of the area, members and non-members are invited to meet at Trinity Presbyterian, for a social get together.  Playing games, doing gentle exercises, learning new skills, chatting and getting to know each other in a friendly loving atmosphere.

The continuous generous donations from our members are greatly appreciated.

Some of the other monthly initiatives of Trinity Presbyterian Church are listed below.

FOOD VOUCHERS for families unable to make ends meet, enabling them to buy what they need for their household.  Trinity congregation continues to donate generously to the food bag fund.

UBUHLE BEZWE CHILDREN’S HOME – a home for abandoned babies and children.  Providing much needed love and care.  Feeding and caring for children who have nowhere to go after school.  Some of the donations to the home has been a 3-plate gas burner, large cooking pots, as well a donation of 50 pairs of new school shoes.

KHANYISA TRUST – in Edenvale operates a soup kitchen feeding program, serving over 2,000 meals a month, in which Trinity Presbyterian have a day to provide pre-made Soup.  The program’s beneficiaries are primarily previously disadvantaged individuals.  Annually Trinity Church has a CHOP AND CHAT Day where we get together for the day cutting up various vegetables, to bag and freeze for the soup kitchen.  What a glorious time of fellowship of young and old, getting your hands ‘dirty’ for a greater good!

ANNUAL JERSEY DRIVE

This is the display of jerseys, blankets & beanies today for our annual jersey drive, contributed by our members, and donated to various charities and homes. Elspeth Ramsay started the jersey drive in 1984 & it is now being run by Beth Sheasby. This has become our annual practice at the beginning of winter since then.
